The colour pink has had a rather big moment and continues to do so. Especially judging by ones Instagram feed. Several restaurants and shops around the world have embraced the happy colour in their interior design. If you feel like travelling to find the pink spots, here are some of the loveliest.
Paul Smith’s Pink Wall in Los Angeles
The building housing Paul Smith’s flagship store in Los Angeles is probably the most famous (or infamous) pink travel destination. Just driving by the store will give you a sense of its popularity. Tons of people will be standing by the wall taking selfies or getting their loved ones (or assistants) to take snapshots. Including me. 8221 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles
Pietro Nolita
This Italian restaurant in New York has gone all in on the pink interior. All pink walls, furniture and storefront in this cute street, where I used to live for period of my life. So the street definitely has sentimental value for this little pink pony. 174 Elizabeth Street, New York
The Gallery at Sketch
By now The Gallery at Sketch in Mayfair, London has become a regular on the list of pink hotspots. The pink walls and the soft fluffy sofas are a huge attraction unite pink lovers from around the world. Plus, the restaurant walls are home to the largest group of original David Shrigley drawings. Come for afternoon tea or dinner. 9 Conduit Street, London
Normann Copenhagen
In my home country of Denmark, the fashion and interior store Normann Copenhagen recently had a makeover. This included a basement room entirely in pink. The lit staircase featuring pink carpeting leads downstairs to a pink furniture extravaganza. Østerbrogade 70, Copenhagen
Pan y Pasteles
An installation of more than 12,000 pink sticks in the ceiling of this close to Madrid bakery is somewhat of a sighting. It is 30 minutes outside the Spanish capital, but the pink interior including floors and furniture will be a breeze for pink thrill seekers. Calle Mayor, 3, Alcalá de Henares
LOVE this!! You should check out the Gold Rush Steakhouse at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo too for a full throttle fuchsia pink kitsch fest! I don’t like the food there but it’s well worth dropping in for a martini… G
Yes of course! The Madonna Inn is natural addition to this list. I actually have a few more pink destinations, I did not include, so maybe I should do a Pink Destinations pt. 2.
